Gagan Thapa Demands Judicial Probe into Bhadra 24 Incident, Criticizes Government Overreach

Biratnagar. Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has stated that the government's attempt to cover up the incident of Bhadra 24 will not be accepted under any circumstances. Speaking at a press meet organized at the Koirala residence in Biratnagar on Saturday, President Thapa said that the government's attempt to not investigate the destruction of Bhadra 24 and to cover up the incident is unacceptable. He also demanded that the government form a judicial commission to investigate the destruction of Bhadra 24 as per its own commitment.

He stated that the report of the National Human Rights Commission regarding the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24 should be made public and that those found guilty should be punished according to the report. He also urged that such actions should not be taken, as it has been heard that pressure is being applied to withhold the Human Rights Commission's report.
