Congress Demands Implementation of Human Rights Commission's Recommendations on Genji Violence

Kathmandu. The main opposition party Nepali Congress has demanded that the government immediately implement the recommendations made by the National Human Rights Commission regarding the events during the Genji rebellion. Issuing a statement on the first anniversary of the Genji movement, Congress Parliamentary Party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe said that whoever is involved in the incident should be impartially investigated and brought under the purview of legal action.

Angdembe mentioned that the National Human Rights Commission had recommended action against all parties that incited the peaceful demonstration to become violent, infiltrated, used excessive force on September 9, and caused destruction on September 10.
