CPN-UML Claims Last Year's Violence Was Premeditated, Not Impulsive

Kathmandu. CPN (UML) has claimed that the arson, vandalism, and destruction that occurred on August 24 last year were the result of a planned scheme, not an impulse arising from the human casualties in the previous day's youth protest.

In a press statement issued by UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on the first anniversary of the August 24 incidents, it is claimed that various criminal groups infiltrated the peaceful protest on August 23 and made it violent. UML mentioned that 19 youths died in the incident and expressed condolences to the deceased and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
