“I am a single woman, living next to the school from where children were saved by the headmaster in Trishuli Bazaar. My house is completely wiped out. All my belongings, including whatever gold I had, have been swept away by the flood,” shared Sanga Maya Tamang as she stood afar, looking at the Trishuli River that was gushing by. She was staring at the spot where her house once stood before it was swept away. But the resilience of Sanga Maya struck me. She was not weeping, nor were many others who were going about the business of finding better places to live while the government made arrangements for them. None of them complained. They said they had come to terms with the reality that everything was gone and that they now had to start all over again.
