Sauraha Hotels Face Cancellations Due to Flood and Road Blockages

Chitwan. All rooms in Sauraha's 'landmark' hotel, which has seventy-five rooms, are empty on Tuesday. This situation has become regular in recent days. This hotel, operated by Om Prakash Pandey, chairman of the Regional Hotel Association Chitwan, had a 'booking' of 60 percent at this time. Due to disruptions in the road network, including at Bhote Koshi, those 'bookings' have been canceled, leaving the hotel deserted.

Chairman Pandey informs that the situation is similar for other hotels like his. Except for limited areas in Nepal, there is no impact of floods elsewhere. Although the Prithvi Highway is blocked due to landslides at Krishnabhir, alternative roads are in operation. However, tourists are canceling 'bookings' one after another. He stated that all bookings for this month have been canceled.
