UN General Assembly Session Opens, Addresses Global Challenges

The 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly has officially begun. The newly elected President of the United Nations General Assembly, Kalilur Rahman, inaugurated the session at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Addressing the opening session, President Rahman stated that he has taken on the responsibility at a significant and challenging time for the United Nations. He noted that while the past achievements have been significant as the United Nations enters its ninth decade, the world is facing serious challenges.
