MP Thakur Singh Tharu Discusses Rasuwa Disaster Response and Bardiya Development

Thakur Singh Tharu, who entered politics from a media background, had a long-standing interest in politics. Although he became a candidate in the 2079 election, he could not win. However, in the 2082 election, Tharu achieved a spectacular victory from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

The 51-year-old Tharu reached parliament by securing 49,631 votes from Bardiya Constituency No. 1. His closest rival, Shalikram Adhikari of CPN-UML, was defeated by 34,988 votes.
