MP Kandel Stresses Connectivity, Grants Over Loans for Flood-Hit Areas

Kathmandu. CPN-UML lawmaker Dr. Pushparaj Kandel has stated that it is necessary to immediately connect connectivity in flood and landslide-affected areas. Lawmaker Kandel said this while speaking at a meeting of the Finance Committee of the Federal Parliament on Wednesday.

He demanded that the government prioritize grant aid over foreign loans during times of disaster. He drew the government's attention to the fact that relief could not even reach the affected areas due to the lack of roads and bridges. Stating that the contact on both sides of the Trishuli River has been completely broken due to floods and landslides, he said that the areas towards Dhading and Rasuwa have been 'cut off'.
