15 Nepali Children Rescued From India Brought Back to Nepal

Butwal. Fifteen Nepali children and adolescents found in risky situations in various places in India have been rescued and brought to Nepal. They are being prepared to be handed over to their families and relatives after bringing them to Bhairahawa in Rupandehi. The rescue was carried out from various places in India, including Maharashtra, Delhi, and Jharkhand, with the initiative of 'Kin India', an organization working against human trafficking and smuggling based in Delhi, India. According to DSP Krishna Kumar Chand, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Rupandehi, the rescued children have been brought to Nepal to be handed over to their families and relatives. According to Naveen Joshi, Director of 'Kin India', 12 of the rescued children are under 15 years of age, while three are adolescents above 15 years of age. Five of the rescued are girls and adolescents. Joshi told Ratopati that preparations are being made to hand them over to their guardians in the presence of police and administration after completing legal procedures. It has been found that some of the rescued children were illegally taken to India on the pretext of teaching them in madrasas. Joshi said that after receiving information that they were in risky and illegal conditions, the rescue was carried out by raiding the concerned madrasas with the help of Indian police, especially Maharashtra police. Similarly, some girls and adolescents were found to have fled their homes due to domestic violence and reached India. They were also rescued from risky situations in various places in India. Some children were found abandoned at railway stations in Delhi. After being rescued from various places in India, they were kept under the protection of 'Kin India' for some time. Joshi said that after completing the necessary procedures, they are being reunited with their families and relatives safely in Nepal. The rescued children were brought to Rupandehi in three vehicles. During the bringing to Nepal, Senior Superintendent of Police Prakash Malla from the Nepali Embassy in India also participated along with the staff of 'Kin India'. According to Joshi, the rescued children and adolescents are from districts including Madhesh Province, Pratapapur in West Nawalparasi, Palpa, Kanchanpur, and Kailali.
