Gen Z Movement's Unfulfilled Aspirations Under Balen Shah's Government

A year ago, on 082 Bhadra 23 (8 September, 2025), the Gen Z youth initiated an agitation demanding the government's control over social media, good governance, and constitutional amendments. The movement intensified on Bhadra 24 after the then-government led by KP Sharma Oli's extensive crackdown resulted in the deaths of 23 young students. Arson occurred nationwide.

Billions of rupees in damage occurred to state structures like Singha Durbar, the Parliament building, the President's Office, the Supreme Court, and even private property. Ultimately, the government led by KP Oli fell.
