11% population of Karnali Province affected by mental health problems

Surkhet, Sept 9: Around 11 per cent of the population of Karnali Province has been found to be suffering from mental health problems, prompting the provincial government to intensify awareness, identification, treatment and prevention programmes.

According to the Ministry of Social Development, mental health problems have been increasing in society in recent years, with the prevalence reportedly higher in urban areas than in rural communities.
