Everest View Trail Race Gains International Recognition

Solukhumbu. The 'Everest View Trail Race' has received international recognition. The race, organized by Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality in Solukhumbu district, has been recognized. This adventurous race, organized with a focus on tourism promotion, nature conservation, and sports development, has received official recognition from France's world-famous 'Ultra Trail' organization.
The International Trail Running Association has awarded this race three points. After completing a recognized race, runners receive points based on the distance and altitude difficulty, which helps in qualifying for other world-famous major international races. Races like Manjushree, Sindhupalchok, and Runauku, organized in Nepal, have already received recognition. After receiving international official recognition, Rural Municipality Chairperson Buddhikiran Rai said that the campaign to connect sports with tourism, nature, culture, and adventure travel has been realized. It is believed that this will make it easier to promote local natural and cultural heritage to the world. The race, approximately 48 kilometers long, has an altitude of two thousand nine hundred and fourteen meters. The maximum time limit to complete the race has been set at 7 hours and 45 minutes.
