Deuba Expresses Confidence in Supreme Court for Party Authenticity

Bhaktapur. Nepali Congress's former president and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed full confidence that the Supreme Court will deliver justice on the issue of the party's authenticity. Addressing a discussion program organized in Bhaktapur on the occasion of the 133rd BP Jayanti, Deuba claimed that his group would receive the Congress's name, the tree symbol, and the four-star flag. President Deuba objected to the demand for a special general convention within the party and its process.

Although the party statute has provisions for a special convention, he alleged that the necessary verification of representatives and completion of the process have not been done. 'When Suvarna Shamsher was president, the convention was called only after verifying the representatives with the consent of BP Koirala himself. But now, names have been put in from pockets and conventions are being called one after another,' he said.
