CPN-UML Questions Balen Shah Government on One-China Policy After Dalai Lama Birthday Celebration

Kathmandu. CPN-UML has questioned whether the current government led by Balendra (Balen) Shah has gone against the One-China policy that Nepal has been adopting. In Thursday's meeting of the House of Representatives, UML Chief Whip Ain Mahar said that the Balen government has challenged Nepal's foreign policy by allowing the separatist leader Dalai Lama's birthday to be celebrated.

He said that the program held on Asar 22nd at Namgyal Secondary School in Swayambhu on the occasion of Lama's birthday has disturbed the harmonious relationship between Nepal and China since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Mahar said that UML will oppose this anti-national act and that seven former ambassadors to China have also protested it.
