Police Intensify DNA Testing for Identification of Bhote Koshi Flood Victims

Rupandehi. Nepal Police has intensified the collection and testing of 'DNA' samples for the identification of bodies of Nepali and foreign citizens who died in the Bhote Koshi flood. With the objective of avoiding errors in the process of identifying bodies, Nepal Police has been advancing the sample testing in a meticulous and systematic manner through the modern 'forensic' method of DNA profiling.

Nepal Police Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Samakhushi is testing the 'DNA' samples collected from the flood-affected areas and from the relatives of the deceased. Police have stated that scientific standards and available technology have been used in all processes from sample collection to secure storage and testing. Police Spokesperson Deputy Inspector General of Police Abhinarayan Kafle said that police are prioritizing search, rescue, and body identification after the disaster.
