Pokhara. After Kathmandu, Pokhara suffered the most damage during the Genji movement. Government structures at all levels, from provincial to local, were set on fire and vandalized.
The Provincial Assembly Secretariat under Gandaki Province suffered even greater damage during the movement. At that time, technical experts reported a total loss of NRs 162,530,000 due to vandalism and arson. Of this, NRs 89,000,000 was for the building and NRs 43,000,000 for vehicles. Similarly, a technical report indicated damage worth NRs 21,500,000 to electrical equipment. A library with over 5,000 books, medicines worth NRs 1,000,000, 49 computers, 19 laptops, 600 chairs, 132 tables, and 49 drawers were completely destroyed.
