Users of Hamro Patro Donate 12.5 Million Rupees to PM's Disaster Relief Fund

Kathmandu. Users of Hamro Patro have donated 1 crore 25 lakh rupees to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund. The amount was collected with the objective of assisting the families and communities affected by the recent devastating disaster in Nepal in their relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction efforts. The collected donation amount on behalf of the Hamro Patro Community was formally handed over to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle. Along with the donation amount, a list of all donors who contributed to the campaign was also submitted to the government. Hamro Patro facilitated the campaign with the aim of enabling Nepalis living abroad to easily contribute to the national relief campaign. Arrangements were made so that the entire contribution made by users, without any service charge for sending money, would reach the relief fund. Shankar Upreti, Founder and CEO of Hamro Patro, stated that the 1 crore 25 lakh rupees is a collective contribution from the users. He mentioned that Hamro Patro only played a role as a medium to deliver the users' support to the government. "We are extremely grateful for the promptness, unity, and generosity shown by Nepalis worldwide at a time when Nepal needs it. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to every individual who contributed, whether the amount was small or large," he said. Hamro Patro has stated that since its establishment, it has been connecting the Nepali community through information and digital services. Hamro Patro app, which has also played a role in mobilizing collective support during times of disaster, has been downloaded more than 20 million times worldwide, the company stated. The company expressed gratitude to all users who participated in the campaign and contributed, and solidarity with the families and communities affected by the disaster.
