Parliamentary Committee Chair Directs Government to Punish Price Gougers

Kathmandu. Rahabar Ansari, Chairman of the House of Representatives Industry, Commerce and Labor and Consumer Interest Committee, has directed the government to immediately bring anyone who takes advantage of the disaster to create artificial shortages and unnatural price hikes into the legal framework and take strict action.

The parliamentary committee has given such a directive to the Ministry of Industry and the Department of Commerce to aggressively monitor the market after a severe shortage of daily necessities and cooking gas occurred due to natural disasters.
