National Human Rights Commission Urges Government to Address Rising Suicide Rates

Lalitpur. The National Human Rights Commission has urged the government and all stakeholders to take immediate effective measures to prevent suicide, considering it a serious human rights issue and to protect citizens' lives. The Commission issued a press release on Thursday in the context of World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10), making such an appeal.

This day is celebrated every year with the objective of increasing awareness about suicide prevention worldwide. The Commission has emphasized putting into practice the main theme set for 2024 to 2026, 'Changing the Narrative on Suicide,' and the call to 'Start the Conversation.'
