Industry Minister Gauri Kumari Yadav Resigns After Controversial Statements

Kathmandu. Industry, Commerce and Supplies Minister Gauri Kumari Yadav, who courted controversy by stating that gas shortages and black marketeering in the market were due to entrepreneurs and businessmen, has resigned herself. Minister Yadav submitted her resignation to Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, on Thursday. On Wednesday, in the Industry Committee of Parliament, Minister Yadav had stated that the mischief of entrepreneurs and businessmen was the main reason for the gas shortage.

She also complained that the employees did not cooperate with her and that licenses were issued after taking millions of rupees. Minister Yadav resigned the day after stating this in the committee.
