Bodies of Flood Victims Buried, DNA Testing Underway

The bodies of those who lost their lives in the Bhote Koshi flood are being managed by burying them. On Bhadra 10, the flow of the Lende River on the Tibetan side suddenly increased, causing an unexpected flood in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers of Rasuwa. So far, 1374 people have died in the flood. Security personnel have collected bodies from the banks of the Bhote Koshi, Trishuli, and Narayani rivers.
According to the Police Headquarters, 4077 people are still missing in the Bhote Koshi flood. The government is safely storing the bodies by burying them, estimating that the bodies may decompose and spread infection. Bodies swept away by the Bhote Koshi have been buried and managed in districts including Dhading, Chitwan, and westward Nawalparasi.
