MP Vipin Kumar Acharya Highlights Slow Reconstruction of Government Structures

Kathmandu. National Independent Party General Secretary and MP Vipin Kumar Acharya has drawn the government's attention to the slow reconstruction of government structures damaged in the earthquake. Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, Acharya said that while the private sector has rapidly reconstructed damaged commercial centers, government structures have not yet been built. He pointed out that the reconstruction of major state structures is still slow, with buildings like Singha Durbar and Parliament remaining as they were. He questioned how citizens in areas like Rasuwa and Nuwakot would believe their reconstruction would proceed effectively when the reconstruction of Singha Durbar, considered the heart of the state, and the sovereign Parliament is slow. Praising the private sector, Acharya said, 'Those commercial centers that turned to ashes in the destruction of August 24 have today risen stronger and more structurally. I am proud to see the energy of the private sector.' Expressing dissatisfaction with the delay in government structures, he added, 'But when I enter through the gate of Singha Durbar, the burnt Singha Durbar and the Home Ministry still look abandoned. I heard this year's budget was to be in the new Parliament hall, but today I am still presenting my views from this temporary building.'
