Major Fire on Cargo Ship in China Causes Significant Casualties

Beijing. Chinese state media have reported significant human casualties due to a fierce fire on a cargo ship in a port in the eastern region of China. The ship where the fire broke out is said to be a cargo ship flying a foreign flag.

According to China's Xinhua news agency, the fire broke out at 11:15 AM local time on a ship kept for repair at a shipyard in the city of Qingdao. Some people on board the ship are said to be trapped after the fire.
