Gas Shortage Persists in Kathmandu Valley Despite Supply Efforts

Kathmandu. Long queues of consumers carrying empty cylinders have formed in front of various sales centers and dealers due to the severe shortage of cooking gas in the Kathmandu Valley. In some places, consumers who have been waiting for hours in crowds extending to the road since early morning are not even sure of getting gas.

According to the Oil Corporation, although regular transportation has been affected due to damage to the road at Krishnabhir in Dhading along the Prithvi Highway, arrangements have been made to bring gas through an alternative route. The corporation's data shows that only 87,877 cylinders of gas were brought into the Kathmandu Valley from August 18 to 20.
