Government Approves Poor Household List, PM Shah to Attend UN General Assembly

Kathmandu. The government has approved the list of 17,438 poor households in 27 local levels of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Saptari, and Dang. The Council of Ministers meeting held at Singhdarbar on Thursday decided to approve the list of poor households in 27 local levels of those districts. The meeting also approved the visit of the Nepali delegation led by Prime Minister Balen Shah to participate in the 81st General Assembly of the United Nations. The Nepali delegation led by the Prime Minister will participate in the General Assembly to be held from October 6 to 10. Similarly, the meeting decided to form a Nepali negotiation team to participate in the Nepal-India Inter-Governmental Sub-Committee meeting to be held in New Delhi, India. The meeting also decided to provide in-principle approval for the formulation of a bill related to the control of unfair transactions (meter-by-meter interest) crimes, informed Government Spokesperson and Minister of Education Sasmita Pokharel. Likewise, the meeting appointed Dr. Hariprasad Lamsal (Bhaktapur) as the Chairman of the Teachers Service Commission, Ramsharan Sapkota (Makwanpur) as a member, and Bishnu Ghimire Rimal (Kathmandu) as a female member. The meeting decided to promote Joint Secretary Binod Bahadur Kunwar to the post of Secretary of Gazetted Special Class and to appoint him as the Chief Secretary in the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Lumbini Province. Similarly, it was decided to promote Joint Secretary Uttarkumar Khatri to the post of Secretary of Gazetted Special Class and to appoint him as the Chief Secretary in the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Sudurpashchim Province.
