Mother Dies Saving Daughter in Venezuela Earthquake, Footballers Among Victims

Caracas. A mother has lost her life while saving her young daughter in the devastating earthquake that struck Venezuela. According to local media and Venezuelan footballer Hector Bello, his wife Andrea saved their young daughter's life during two powerful earthquakes. Bello wrote an emotional post on his Instagram stating that his wife did not let go of their daughter until her last breath and that he would tell their daughter the story of her bravery. He wrote in another post, 'How do I explain to my daughter that you gave your life to save hers and I wasn't there to do anything? Give me strength.' At least 920 people have died and more than 3,000 have been injured in the two earthquakes that struck near the capital Caracas. Footballer Bello informed that his daughter and her aunt are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Caracas and their condition is stable. Local football organization 'Cumana de Campeones' and international media Univision have also confirmed that Bello's wife died buried in the rubble and his daughter was rescued alive.

The identities of other victims who lost their lives in this great disaster that occurred last Wednesday are still being revealed. According to the Venezuelan Football Federation and related clubs, two football players have also died in the earthquake. Rajan Siza, an under-18 player from Caracas Football Club, died along with his family members in his home in La Guaira. Similarly, Victor Palacios, a player associated with the academies of Maritimo de La Guaira and Club Sport San Agustin, also died in the earthquake. The clubs expressed deep sorrow on social media for losing their talented players.
