Maduro's Wife Seeks Home Detention Due to Worsening Heart Condition

New York. Venezuela's former president Nicolas Maduro's wife Cilia Flores has demanded to be kept under house arrest at her home. Her legal team has made such a demand to the court, stating that her health condition has been deteriorating while in US custody and her heart-related problems have become more serious.

In the pre-trial release petition filed by Flores' lawyers on Wednesday, it has been demanded that she be allowed to await the hearing of the case under house arrest at the Maduro couple's home in Manhattan. According to the legal team, the detention center does not have adequate facilities for the necessary treatment and recovery of heart-related problems.
