35 Lawmakers Submit 267 Amendments to Mines and Minerals Bill

Kathmandu. 35 lawmakers have registered 267 amendment proposals on the 'Mines and Minerals Bill, 2083' registered in the House of Representatives. Members have registered amendments demanding to add, modify, or remove various points from the preamble to the schedule of the bill.
In the amendment, many lawmakers have demanded the establishment of a separate 'Authority' for the exploration, excavation, and regulation of mines and minerals. Many amendments have also been made to clarify the role and rights of the province and local levels in mining activities.
