HoR meeting: MPs call for making safe motherhood programme fully cost-free

Kathmandu, Sept 11: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Tosima Karki has demanded the government to provide free health services not just for giving birth but for all aspects of safe motherhood under the maternal protection programme.

Speaking in the meeting of the House of Representatives today after seeking time from the Speaker, MP Karki drew the government’s attention to the incident where the Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Saptari reportedly neglected pregnant Babita Kumari Paswan and she was compelled to give birth on the street.
