Riyadh. Saudi Arabia's important 'East-West' oil pipeline was temporarily shut down on Thursday after a drone attack. Saudi officials said that the attack caused fires at some pumping stations along the pipeline and injured some people.

According to US officials, initial investigations show that the pipeline system was attacked by missiles or drones. A US official said that the drones used in the attack may have come from Iraq. However, it is not immediately clear who claimed responsibility for the attack.
