Speaker Aryal Emphasizes Collective Effort for Human Rights Protection

Lalitpur. Speaker of the House of Representatives Dol Prasad Aryal has emphasized the need for collective effort to protect human rights. Addressing a program organized here today on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the National Human Rights Commission, he praised the role played by the commission in the protection and promotion of human rights.

Speaker Aryal said, "The commission has been performing at a high level since its establishment to fulfill national and international obligations towards human rights. I want to highly respect the role played in ensuring policy arrangements to prioritize the protection of human rights for the sovereign parliament and the Government of Nepal for its implementation. Evaluating the role Nepal has been playing in the protection and promotion of human rights globally, our presence and representation in international and national forums have clarified the support and coordination for socio-economic transformation that Nepal has expressed."
