Nepal's Economic Survey Shows Decline in Agricultural Growth

Kathmandu. The economic survey of the current fiscal year 2082/83 published by the Government of Nepal shows a decline in the agricultural sector in the country's economy. The survey shows a decline in agricultural production and growth rate in the current fiscal year compared to the previous year.
According to the survey, the economic growth rate of the agricultural sector in the current fiscal year 2082/83 is preliminarily estimated to be limited to 1.58 percent. This growth rate was 3.05 percent in the last fiscal year. The survey indicates that the contribution of the agricultural sector to the gross domestic product will be 24.0 percent. Based on the National Agricultural Census 2078, 62 percent of the total households in Nepal are still engaged in agricultural work.
