MP Sherpa Criticizes Political Leadership for Weak Federalism Implementation

Kathmandu. CPN (UML) MP Sonam Geljen Sherpa has commented that the role of political parties and leaders is paramount in the weak implementation of federalism in Nepal. Speaking at a meeting of the National Assembly's Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee held in Singha Durbar, MP Sherpa made such comments.

He accused that the effective implementation of federalism has not been possible due to the 'slave mentality' of the political leadership. He mentioned that political parties have a tendency to say federalism is necessary but are not ready to enact the necessary laws and transfer power for it.
