Indian PM Modi Calls for BRICS to Boost Global South Participation

New Delhi. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that BRICS must take concrete initiatives to increase the participation and influence of the Global South in global decision-making processes. Addressing the 18th BRICS Summit organized under India's presidency, he commented that the current global governance structure concentrates power and decision-making authority in only a few countries.

He expressed the view that the current governance system needs to be transformed into a structure that ensures everyone's participation. Modi stated that Global South countries are at the forefront of global crises but are left behind in decision-making.
