Iran Claims Attack on US Military Base After Drone Interception

Tehran. Iran has claimed to have attacked a US military base. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that after US attacks on various parts of Iran from the base on Thursday morning, a counter-attack was carried out, according to Iranian state media. The IRGC has not clearly disclosed which US military base was attacked. The US has military bases in various countries in the Middle East region.

“After an attack by US attacking forces using aerial projectiles in the outer area of Bandar Abbas airport this morning, the US military base considered to be the source of the attack was targeted at 4:50 AM,” the IRGC’s public relations office said in a statement, as quoted by Fars News Agency. The IRGC stated that its response was a serious warning to the US and that it would not refrain from retaliating against US attacks.
