Government Prepares to Establish New Engineering Campus in Madhesh Province

Kathmandu. The government has moved forward with preparations to establish a new campus of the Institute of Engineering (IOE) under Tribhuvan University in Madhesh Province. Minister of Education and Sports, Sasmita Pokharel, stated that the campus is being established to expand access to technical education in Madhesh Province and to end the compulsion for students to go to other provinces for engineering studies.

A large number of students from Madhesh Province go to Kathmandu and other provinces for engineering studies every year. This creates additional financial burdens for students and parents, as well as issues related to accommodation and other practical problems.
