Bagmati Province Faces Rising Financial Irregularities

Hetauda. Financial indiscipline in Bagmati Province has led to a year-on-year increase in irregularities. The Auditor General's Office's recently published report indicates that the financial discipline of the Bagmati Province government is weakening.
The report of the Auditor General's Office mentions that billions of rupees in irregularities have been recorded in various government bodies and local levels of the province in the audit of the fiscal year 2081/082. In the fiscal year 2081/082, a total of 83 billion 15 crore 63 lakh 78 thousand rupees from 209 government bodies and committees of the province were audited. Of this, 69 crore 37 lakh 94 thousand rupees were found to be irregular. The Auditor General's report states that 0.83 percent of the total audited amount is irregular. With the remaining irregularities from last year and the newly added irregularities, the updated (total remaining) irregularities in Bagmati Province have reached 5 billion 28 crore 6 lakh 94 thousand rupees, according to the report.
