Disaster Management Expert Man Bahadur Thapa Shares Experiences and Insights

Man Bahadur Thapa, with 25 years of experience at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is an experienced disaster management expert. He has worked in 13 countries including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Maldives, and Turkey. He has experience managing and mitigating crises caused by natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, tsunamis, and sea cyclones in about a dozen countries worldwide. He worked at the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) for five years and has received training in disaster management in various countries.

Thapa, who holds a Master's degree in Natural Resource Conservation from Cornell University, USA, obtained in 1999, also holds Master's degrees in Rural Sociology and Agricultural Economics from the University of the Philippines. He has worked as a disaster management specialist for nearly three decades with UNDP and other international and national organizations.
