Supreme Court Orders Release of Former MP Laxmi Mahato Koiri

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has issued a writ of habeas corpus ordering the release of former CPN (UML) MP Laxmi Mahato Koiri. The joint bench of Justices Kumar Regmi and Shree Kant Poudel ordered the release of Koiri.

Koiri's son, Manoj Kumar Mahato, had filed a habeas corpus writ petition in the Supreme Court on behalf of former MP Koiri. The Area Police Office, Gaushala, Mahottari, among others, were made defendants in the writ petition.
