Jeetpursimra Sub-Metropolis Presents Budget of 1.87 Billion Rupees for Fiscal Year 2083/084

Bara. Jeetpursimra Sub-Metropolitan City has presented a budget of 1.87 billion rupees for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084. This time, the budget has been brought with full consensus among the executive members. The sub-metropolis has allocated a total of 221.6 million rupees for its 24 wards for the upcoming fiscal year. Of the total allocated ward budget, 50 percent, i.e., 110.8 million rupees, has been divided equally among all wards. The remaining budget has been allocated based on the ward's population, geography, and revenue collection status, informed Sudhan Chaudhary, head of the planning branch of the sub-metropolis. According to him, the smallest ward, Ward No. 6, has received 61 lakh rupees, while Ward No. 22, the largest, has been allocated a budget of 12.378 million rupees. Planning branch chief Chaudhary said, 'We have also provided conditional programs worth 2.1 million rupees along with the budget ceiling to all wards. Conditional programs have been sent for house numbering within the ward, declaring child-friendly, environment-friendly, women-friendly wards, and collecting data of landless squatters. For the remaining budget, the ward committee can make decisions.' The federal government has sent conditional programs worth 510 million rupees and the Madhesh Province government has sent conditional programs worth 50 million rupees for the upcoming fiscal year for the sub-metropolis. From the sub-metropolis's total budget of 1.87 billion rupees, 80 to 100 million rupees will be spent from the remaining 1.10 billion rupees for the operation and management of Jeetpursimra Nagar Hospital in the upcoming year. Similarly, 450 million rupees will be spent on increased salaries and allowances for employees under mandatory liabilities, and 400 to 500 million rupees will be spent to reconcile payments for old projects. This is the budget for the final year after the second local level elections. Unlike in previous years, all programs have been passed by consensus in this year's municipal assembly without table-pounding and disturbances. Planning branch chief Chaudhary added, 'This decision has been made with the consensus of all ward chairs. This year's municipal assembly has been completed peacefully, unlike in the past.' Previously, the sub-metropolis had presented a budget of 2.01 billion rupees for the current fiscal year 2082/083. However, at that time, a deficit budget of 500 million rupees had created significant problems for the sub-metropolis in paying for old projects. The sub-metropolis collects revenue from 36 titles including property tax, rental tax, land revenue tax, entertainment, vehicle, scrap tax, stone, gravel, sand, etc., from which an estimated annual internal revenue of 250 million rupees is collected.
