Pele's 1958 World Cup Jersey Sells for $4.9 Million at Auction

New York. The jersey worn by Brazilian football legend Pele in the 1958 FIFA World Cup final has been sold at auction in New York by a Sotheby's company for 4.9 million US dollars (approximately 670 million Nepali rupees).

This is the second most expensive jersey sold through auction in football history. Earlier, the jersey worn by Argentinian Diego Maradona when he scored the famous 'Hand of God' goal against England in the 1986 World Cup was sold in 2022 for 7.1 million pounds (approximately 1.31 billion Nepali rupees).
