Government Decides Not to Rehire Pensioned Employees on Contract

Kathmandu. The government has decided not to rehire employees who have received pensions from government jobs on contract. The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration issued a circular to all bodies on Friday, stating that contract employees who have retired from any government service and have received gratuity or are currently receiving pension will not be given service continuity from July 17, 2026 (Shrawan 1, 2083 BS).
The circular, signed by Ministry Section Officer Sajiv Nepal and sent to all concerned bodies for implementation, mentions that the government has decided to bid farewell with thanks to employees working on contract after receiving pension.
