Kathmandu Valley Drainage and Flooding Issues Discussed

Kathmandu. A discussion was held among stakeholders to solve the problem of drainage and waterlogging seen in the Kathmandu Valley during the rainy season. In the discussion held today at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority among stakeholders, emphasis was placed on making a long-term plan to solve the problem of inundation every year due to the problem of drainage in the valley during the monsoon period.

In the discussion, a detailed review was done on long-term solutions to solve the problem of inundation and water drainage during the rainy season. Participants emphasized the need to prepare immediate, short-term, and long-term action plans and implement them in a coordinated manner.
