Army Team Engaged in Rescue Operations at Upper Trishuli 3 'A' Hydropower Project

Kathmandu. A team including the Nepali Army has been engaged in war-level rescue operations overnight for the citizens trapped in the Upper Trishuli 3 'A' hydropower project area due to floods caused by incessant rainfall. Despite adverse weather, continuous rain, and darkness of night, the search and rescue of the affected people has been intensified. To facilitate the rescue operations amidst geographical complexities and to avoid obstruction during the night, high-capacity floodlights have been installed at the work site, and the search and rescue is ongoing. Continuous use of JCB and heavy excavators is being made to clear the massive landslide and soil accumulated at the scene, with the help of which rescue teams are trying to reach the trapped citizens to possible locations by clearing the blocked paths. To make the rescue operation more effective and swift, the team has also utilized modern technology. Advanced 'search cameras' and special monitors have been used for detailed search under landslides and debris. Meanwhile, technical teams are on standby at the scene with necessary emergency equipment and first aid materials, coordinating on the ground. Despite the difficult situation, the joint efforts of security bodies and technical teams are continuously ongoing to ensure the prompt and safe rescue of the trapped individuals.
