UK Pledges £5 Million for Flood Relief in Nepal, Offers Rescue Teams

Kathmandu. The United Kingdom has pledged an initial assistance of £5 million (1 billion 3 crore 74 lakh 59 thousand 500 rupees) for disaster management and rescue operations in the areas affected by the devastating floods and landslides seen in Nepal recently.

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham expressed deep sorrow over the devastation in Nepal and stated that he is ready to send emergency rescue and disaster response teams to Nepal if needed.
