Open Garbage Dumping Near Tribhuvan International Airport Poses Serious Risk to Flight Safety and Public Health

Kathmandu. Open dumping of garbage on the eastern edge/Manohara area behind the country's main international gateway, Tribhuvan International Airport, has seriously affected flight safety and public health.

With the increasing dumping of meat residue, rotten fruits, and plastic waste in the open area, the movement of kites, vultures, stray dogs, and crows has intensified in the sky. This has greatly increased the risk of bird strikes during daily takeoffs and landings.
