France and Spain Wildfires Displace Over 135,000

Kathmandu. The number of displaced people has reached 135,000 due to the rapid spread of wildfires in France and Spain. According to the latest details released by the French Interior Minister, 110,000 people have been evacuated to safe places in the Gironde and Landes regions in the southwestern part of the country as the wildfire has become uncontrolled there.

Similarly, in the neighboring country Spain, 25,000 more people have been relocated to safe places due to the wildfire in the western part of the capital Madrid, and more than 20,000 people have been instructed to stay indoors (in lockdown). The representative of the government in the Madrid community, Francisco Martín, released this data in his latest press briefing.
