Government Official Arrested with Undeclared Cash at Biratnagar Airport

Biratnagar. A chief of a government office has been arrested with undeclared cash from Biratnagar Airport. On August 19, the program implementation unit chief of the President Chure Terai Madhesh Conservation Development Committee, Morang, Deputy Secretary Mikmar Tamang, was taken into police custody with Rs 665,000 in cash.
Tamang, a resident of Bhimeshwor Municipality-9, Dolakha, was preparing to fly from Biratnagar to Kathmandu on a Buddha Air flight. During regular security checks at the airport, Rs 665,000, consisting of 515 notes of Rs 1,000 denomination and 300 notes of Rs 500 denomination, was found hidden inside a black bag Tamang was carrying. When questioned about the legal source of the amount, he could not provide a satisfactory answer, leading the airport police security guard to take him into custody.
