Global IME Bank Partners with Nagarik App for Direct Account Opening

Global IME Bank Limited has launched a new facility to open a bank account directly from the app in collaboration with the Nagarik App. Citizens who are members of the Nagarik App can open a personal savings account by scanning the QR code on the bank's website based on their national identity card. Nagarik App users can obtain the QR code required to open an account with the bank by clicking on the designated link. This service, launched for the first time in Nepal, has made it easier for the general public to open a bank account. Under this, citizens aged 18 or above who have obtained a national identity card and are members of the Nagarik App can open an account with Global IME Bank online. For this, the bank will securely obtain the necessary personal details for the account from the Nagarik App with the prior consent of the individual associated with the Nagarik App. This will eliminate the hassle of re-entering personal details and ensure the privacy and security of customer information. To fully operate the account opened through the Nagarik App, customers will have to visit their nearest branch or complete verification through video KYC. With the launch of this service, the bank has expanded secure, simple, and reliable digital banking services by utilizing government digital infrastructure. The bank believes that the collaboration with the Nagarik App will make the account opening process easier, more transparent, and technology-friendly, as well as provide a modern banking experience.
