Kailali Post Office Handles Significant Mail Volume Despite Digital Age

Kailali. Although the increasing use of mobile, email, and social media has led to the traditional postal service being overshadowed, its use in Kailali is still significant. According to the Postal Directorate Kailali, 127,620 letters and postal materials were imported and exported in the fiscal year 2082/83. According to the data, 63,810 postal materials were transported in import and export by the Postal Directorate. Among them, 'Registry' letters had the highest transaction. Information officer Anish Tamang informed that 52,699 registry letters were registered in import and export, and services were provided. The service of letters coming from abroad and sent abroad is also continuing. 470 letters were imported and exported equally in this. The office is also operating the Express Mail Service (EMS) which is provided within 24 hours. 2,723 materials were exchanged through this service throughout the year. The Postal Directorate has also been continuously regulating the communication sector. In one year, 21 online media, 37 press representative identity cards, and 15 FM radio licenses and renewals were done. The Directorate stated that revenue of Rs 64,31,903 was collected from ticket sales and other headings. Postal Director Siddharaj Joshi said that they are continuously providing services amidst limited resources and manpower. He informed that refresher training for postal representatives on the importance and utility of postal service, interaction on the right to information, conducting classes on postal service in schools, and postal service promotion programs have been conducted. Director Joshi said, "The government has adopted a policy to reform and modernize the postal service. This subject was also included in point no. 27 of the 100-day agenda. Accordingly, we have started providing the services we need to provide, and we believe that this service can be further strengthened if it is made modern and resourceful."
